Its a really great feeling heavy piano controller. The Korg collection gives you so many of those sounds at your fingertips I just keep my Extreme around because i have lots of patches for it and its the 88. I use the software way more just for the convenience. The M1 has a little magic to its sound from early converters, the wavestation AD aliases pretty bad and doesnt sound as good as the software, and the Triton Extreme is pretty well covered by the software. Ive owned and played all the hardware ones. I guess the same goes with Triton as long as the expectation of realism stays in check.i own the triton extreme and the korg collection 2 which includes the triton vst, M1, and wavestation plugins. I am finding that the T series piano and the Wavestation pianos can be quite useful in a pop/modern type mix when programmed correctly. Thousands and thousands of presets to enjoy. And they feature all the original banks and extra-banks which were made by Korg + plus many third party banks. MS-20, Mono/Poly, Polisyx, Wavestation, and M1. IMO some PCM sounds can still hold its own even today using the effects correctly and a bit of brightness. All the KLC collection is within my top 10 synths forever. I have decided to look again at the M1 and Wavestation for example. I'm pretty good with sound design and the rule to keep things simple is really key here.
